Abstract / Introduction / Summary:
The asterodiscid sea star Asterodiscides japonicus Oguro, 1991 (Asteroidea: Valvatida) is recorded based on a total of three specimens collected from off Oko- gashima Island, Kagoshima Bay and off Nagashima Island, Yatsushiro Sea. This study represents the first records of A. japonicus from off the Kagoshima main- land and the adjacent islands based on the specimens.
