Abstract / Introduction / Summary:

An undescribed pyramidellid mollusk species, but well-known in its auriform shell, was found living in chaetopterid annelid colonies formed on the rock surface in Kumanoe beach, Miyazaki prefecture. The shell has a flattened open spiral structure and also a heterostrophic protoconch like other pyramidellid species. The blood-red soft body is characterized by broad cephalic tentacles and a pair of eyes apart from each other with the distance of 8–10 eye widths.
