Abstract / Introduction / Summary:
Poecilia latipinna (Lesueur, 1821) is herein reported for the first time from Japan on the basis of three specimens collected from the Nitanda River in Ibusuki City, Kagoshima Prefecture. The species is originally distributed in the west coast of Central America and introduced temperate to subtropical area around the world. Poecilia mexicana Steindachner, 1863 has also been reported from the same river system in the previous study.
