長澤和也・田和篤史

Abstract / Introduction / Summary:

An ovigerous female of the pennellid copepod Lernaeenicus ramosus Kirtisinghe, 1956 was collected from an areolate grouper, Epinephelus areolatus (Forsskål, 1775), in Suruga Bay (western North Pacific Ocean) off Yaizu, Shizuoka Prefecture, central Japan. The copepod is briefly described. It was found to insert its anterior body into the host’s musculature near the base of the dorsal fin. This collection of L. ramosus represents its second record from areolate grouper and Suruga Bay.
