Abstract / Introduction / Summary:
A larva of Elaphognathia kikuchii (Nunomura, 1992) (Crustacea; Isopoda; Gnathiidae) was found from gill of a Whitesaddle goatfish Parupeneus ciliatus (Lacepède, 1802) caught off Bonotsu (100–115 m depth), Minami Satsuma, Kagoshima, southern Japan. This isopod was kept in an incubator at 16℃, and 58 days later it molted and metamorphosed into an adult male. It could be identified by the morphology of the adult males. This paper is the first information of the host fish in E. kikuchii.
