Abstract / Introduction / Summary:
Three fiddler crabs of the genus Gelasimus (G. borealis, G. jocelynae and G. vocans) are reported based on specimens collected from Tanegashima Island, Kagoshima Prefecture, southern Japan. The distinguishing characters of males of these three species and some previous literature records of G. vocans in the main islands of Japan are briefly discussed.
