Abstract / Introduction / Summary:
Four species of the xanthid genus, Lachnopodus Stimpson, 1858 [L. subacutus (Stimpson, 1858); L. bidentatus (A. Milne-Edwards, 1867); L. rodgersi Stimpson, 1858 and L. tahitensis De Man, 1889], are reported based on specimens collected from the southern part of Kyushu and the Ryukyu Islands, of which L. rodgersi and L. tahitensis represent new records for the Japanese fauna. An identification key to these four species is also provided.
