Abstract / Introduction / Summary:
Four species of the xanthid genus Paraxanthias (P. elegans, P. notatus, P. pachydactylus and P. parvus) are reported based on specimens collected from south- western Japan. In this paper, new locality records are provided for P. pachydactylus (Kagoshima Prefecture and Okinawa Islands) and P. parvus (Kagoshima Pre- fecture). The distinguishing characters of these four species are also documented.
