Clathropsis matsukii Cecalupo and Perugia, 2019, a cerithiopsid mollusk species is newly recorded from Iorigawa inlet, Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan. A living specimen collected from underside of a beach boulder was photographed. The soft body is characterized by a simple rectangular foot with rounded corners, a sim- ple, narrow mentum, a pair of short occipital tentacles and a pair of rounded eyes apart from each other with a distance of 5–6 eye breadths.
