Abstract / Introduction / Summary:
A single specimen of the Yellowtail Blue Snaper, Paracaesio xanthura (Bleeker, 1869) (285.0 mm stan- dard length), was collected from Shimokoshiki-shima Island, Koshiki Islands, Kagoshima Prefecture, south- ern Japan. It represents the first record of the species from the islands and also from the East China Sea side of the Kagoshima mainland.
